All that is good....

It seems to me that all that is good within us, all that we are capable of, our moms know before we do.  I am working on a bigger post on this subject, but for now this is enough.



Here's to moms, always putting their children first.  Amazing.

All We Really Want...

It's been too long, and for that I am sorry.

There is so much catching up to do here.  For now I'll start with something that was a rather ordinary realization during an extraordinary event.

After the wrapping paper was all torn off and all the wonderful Christmas presents were revealed, our children were on fire with the spirit that is both receiving and giving.  Ok, I admit they were happy to be on the receiving end of things. 

But soon after all the gifts had been opened, many of them needed to be opened.  And so it started, Dad can you open this, Dad can you, can you, can you.... Dad can you show me this, show me that, do this with me, do that with me.

And in a moment of clarity I realized that the most precious gift is time, time spent focused without interruption. 

That wasn't all they wanted, but it was most of it.
