The Nice...

I thought this was really outstanding.

Sentimental Moment or Why Did the Baguette Cross the Road?
Robert Hershon
Don't fill up on bread
I say absent-mindedly
The servings here are huge

My son, whose hair may be
receding a bit, says
Did you really just
say that to me?

What he doesn't know
is that when we're walking
together, when we get
to the curb
I sometimes start to reach
for his hand

One More Question....

One More Question….
It’s the small details that often reflect that the greatest change is underway.

This morning as I headed out to work our son was at the table coloring.  I kissed him goodbye and headed out the door.

As I was pulling down the street on my way something caught my eye in my peripheral vision.  It was a little boy in the front yard.  It wasn’t just any little boy, it was my son.

I quickly put the car in reverse and headed back to see what was going on.

He told me he had one more question for me before I left.  “Who is your favorite Smurf?” Hefty of course….

Never mind that this was the first time that he had opened the door and come outside by himself…

After answering his question I reminded him that if he was going to come outside by himself his mom or I would need to know, or come with him.

His is getting so big, so fast.  They all are and it is the most wonderful of blessings to behold.  Taking the time to witness the small details of these changes is my key to being aware as to how quickly it all happens.
